The Project

what it is about

This art project explores the universe surrounding us. 

The next 200 Stars and its solar systems which are floating around our sun are represented by 1000 balloons - five of which always belong to one certain star. These five balloons again reflect different natural phenomena which come as Flashes, Clouds, Fog, Splashes and Frost. Every pattern is unique.

"Up To The Stars" tries to symbolize the connection between the limitless metaverse and the real world in which it was created. It is a combination of Graphic Design and Photoshop Elements and each piece is drawn by hand. Whereas the balloons, created with graphic design apps and so being artificial, the chains really exist and represent the material world we're living in.

The project plays with scarcity elements known from typical pfp-collections. The chains vary in material and color and some are rare and others even more. We like these elements as it is a typicall NFT-ferature. 

In addition to that there are classic stats of its underlying stars added like distance from earth, size, mass or constellation it belongs to. These facts naturally differ from star to star. 

And of course the color of each star is different. Meaning 200 different colors for 200 stars. You can hardly see a difference between one star and its direct "neighbor", but if you gain distance to get the whole you will see all colors of the rainbow.

Each Star comes in 5 versions

The 5 Phenomena represent different types of conditions we imagine when thinking of genesis, existance or extinction of stars in the universe.

The Chains

Each Balloon is attached to one of five different chains which differ in material, color and scarcity

Cord        - Basic but solid - various colors, some more some less rare

Rope        - Advanced technique - always white but with some specials

Ballchain - Full metall beautiful chain - very nice and very strong

Gold         - The Golden One - some are colored, still the core is golden

Rainbow  - it'a a rainbow!

Constellations

Astrology calling

Every star belongs to a certain constellation. 

There are many stories about constellations and their impact on human beings. Almost every culture has a history in observing the stars and concluding a meaning.

We are unable to proof any connection to or influence on our character or behaviour. But regardless how far evolution has grown there is always a high significance of constellations.

We want to believe.

Alltogether there are 62 different constellations in this project.
